1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Northern Scholars Hub website and services (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Platform.

Northern Scholars Hub is a registered non-profit organization operating under the laws of British Columbia, Canada.

Northern Scholars Hub is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free educational resources and micro-courses to Canadians. We do not operate for profit and do not generate income from course fees or subscriptions.

• All learning resources and courses are provided free of charge
• No registration fees, tuition fees, or hidden charges apply
• We are volunteer-led and community-supported
• We do not accept donations or payments for services

3. Use of Services

You may use our Platform for lawful purposes only. You agree not to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others
• Transmit harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or data
• Use the Platform for commercial purposes without our written consent
• Reproduce, distribute, or modify our content without permission

4. Content Ownership and Intellectual Property

Our Content: All content provided on the Platform, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, audio clips, video clips, data compilations, and software, is the property of Northern Scholars Hub or its content suppliers and is protected by Canadian and international copyright laws.

License to Use: We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use our educational content for personal, non-commercial learning purposes only. You may not:

• Sell, license, or commercialize our content
• Modify, adapt, or create derivative works
• Remove copyright notices or proprietary markings
• Use content outside the scope of personal education

User-Generated Content: If you submit content to our Platform (e.g., comments, feedback, course submissions), you grant Northern Scholars Hub a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, and display such content for educational purposes.

5. Educational Resources and Courses

Our educational resources and micro-courses are provided "as is" for informational and educational purposes. While we strive for accuracy and quality:

• We do not guarantee specific learning outcomes or results
• Course content may be updated or removed without notice
• We are not responsible for errors or omissions in course materials
• Completion of courses does not constitute accreditation or certification

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform and all content are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by British Columbia law, Northern Scholars Hub, its directors, officers, volunteers, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:

• Errors or omissions in content
• Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
• Any other matter relating to the Platform

Our total liability shall not exceed CAD $100 or the amount permitted under applicable law.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Northern Scholars Hub and its volunteers from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising from your use of the Platform or violation of these Terms.

9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia, Canada.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time, without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
